Co-developed by Sonim Technologies and AT&T, the MegaConnect is designed for public safety use on FirstNet®, the First Responder Band 14 network supporting emergency services. The MegaConnect addresses the unique connectivity needs of mission-critical users, as a part of the FirstNet MegaRange™ HPUE (High Power User Equipment) portfolio. It gives public safety a mobile connectivity solution that delivers superior coverage to areas beyond the reach of traditional cellular networks, it has 6x the transmission power of standard hotspots because it runs on Band 14—the nationwide, high-quality spectrum set aside by the government specifically for FirstNet— and additional connectivity via AT&T 5G and LTE commercial spectrum bands. One-third the size of other HPUE devices available today and easily able to fit in the palm of your hand, the MegaConnect allows first responders to stay connected – wherever the mission takes them. MegaConnect transmits mission-critical voice, video, and data where it’s never gone before: right into the heart of disaster zones in the pocket for First Responders.

By comparison, the Sonim MegaConnect weighs just 448 grams and fits in the palm of your hand, all with a fully self-contained hotspot with a built-in battery, integrated high-performance antenna and a rugged design that is resistant to shocks, drops, and dust with MIL-STD-810H and IP53 ratings. Why Power Class 1 Mobile Hotspots Matter. Consumer-grade hotspots (Power Class 3) are widespread — but Power Class 1 HPUE hotspots are critical for First Responders, delivering up to 6x more signal strength which enables reliable communication in remote locations, across greater distances, in network-challenged environments. That means the Sonim MegaConnect provides expanded coverage in remote areas and better penetrates through signal-blocking materials like glass, concrete, and metal.
